After my Master's in data journalism at Columbia, I reported and published data-driven health, technology, and international development stories for national and international outlets. The work meant sourcing, cleaning, and analysing public datasets in Python and R, including CDC public health data, doing the statistical work, and building the charts that carried the findings for a general audience.
It is the same discipline I now apply to products: find the measurement that matters, make it rigorous, and make it legible.
Written while interning in the United Nations Department of Global Communications and published in Africa Renewal, the UN's flagship magazine on African development. The piece covers the joint United Nations and African Union preparations for Africa Amnesty Month in September 2022.
